Coventry MotoFest 2019 Day 1 Blog: "Sun, See and The BBC"

Day one of MotoFest Coventry 2019 weekend was amazing. It was the first time I had attended this annual event and I had a personal invite for myself and the MG to be the first event car out on the repurposed ring-road race circuit.

I was accompanied (and interviewed) by BBC presenter and fellow petrol head Vic Minett. Myself and the MG were featured on local BBC TV and Radio:

I'd certainly enjoyed my time with the BBC TV and Radio teams at the event. We had plenty of coverage with even my neighbours commentating - unprompted - that they had seen the interview on the local evening news!

Here is the headline Coventry #MotoFest TV piece, recorded by BBC Midlands' roving reporter (and great laugh) Lindsay Doyle featuring yours truly and @MGAlzheimers:

As day one drew to a close, having been wall to wall sunshine, early evening saw my favourite film - The Italian Job - played on their outdoor cinema screen. I stayed on before taking a leisurely trip home to Birmingham, tucking the MG up in the garage before a good night's sleep.....

"Little did I know that - the very next morning - Charlie Croker himself would have thoroughly disapproved of my MG's door action!"
