EX179 on an MGA chassis. This appeared at Utah and In 1945, with unblown l ½ litre engine, it covered 10 miles at 153.69 mph

In 1957, with a 1500cc engine installed in the EX181, Stirling Moss achieved a record speed of 245.6 mph on the Utah Salt Flats. Two years later, with the engine slightly enlarged to 1506cc, the American driver Phil Hill recorded a speed of 254.9 mph
